Hi, new here and read a lot of answers to dog peeing in the house again. My dog is 4 years old, shepard/boxer mix and also is trained, goes out more then enough times but has recently started going in the living room again, even after just being out. I want to know if valley fever might have something to do with it, he's had it for 3 months but just the last week started doing this. I am always home so he's not left alone more than a few hours at a time, he sleeps with me, my friends say he's spoiled rotten, so I just don't get why he does this now. He knows its wrong and when I find it , he runs and hides under the table. Ive never ever hurt him, yet he acts like he's going to be beat or something. He was a year and a half when I got him from humane society. Also, someone said... "dogs and cats can't comprehend " Im going to get you back" , and I disagree on that one. If I ever go anywhere and don't take Sinbad, I will come back and all my pillows will be pushed off my bed... like a tatarum. So I think they do . Any advice or reason he does this would be helpful. I have gated off the living room now, so he can't go in, but I hate doing it because he likes looking out the front window , but I don't know what to do... thanks

Sometimes barracading or crating is the only solution. I would get him checked by the vet for any unrinary tract infections or baldder infections. One of the symptoms of diabetes is frequent urination. Does he seem to be drinking a lot more water then normal? Is he pooping the same? Are they normal size and consistency? Has he been de wormed lately?

Because Valley Fever is limited to the lungs, usually the dogs that are infected will develop a cough, fever, lack of appetite and will appear lethargic. More problems arise when the disease spreads from the lungs to other parts of the body. It usually spreads to the dog's bones and joints. Typically, the dog will begin to limp for no apparent reason. In some cases, the disease may even spread to the brain and cause seizures.
It can be spread to humans as well.
