    15VDC drop down to 5VDC and 12VDC
    Hi everyone:
I enjoyed reading your suggestions to some of the questions brought up to this panel. I think KISS has already given me an idea how to solve my problem except I was hoping to solve it cheaper by using resistors, rectifiers!
Anyway I have a 15VDC 1A power supply that runs a camera and lights setup. My setup works but the resistors get way toooo hot (too hot to touch). Here is what I have done: I have an LCD video display that requires 12VDC@90mA, a board camera that requires DC5V (±10%), and three 1W or 1A LEDs lit up using a 1A LED driver. This all works but again my resistors for the DC5V camera get too hot and to the 12VDC display not as hot. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Use one of these for the 5 V 1A regulator: Digi-Key - 102-1715-ND (Manufacturer - V7805-1000) about $11.00

15 to 12 would be harder. Starting with a 12 V supply would be easier.
