I have two Homart 867 Gas furnaces. After a lengthy power outage yesterday they won't turn back on. I was able to manually light the pilot and switch the regulator (? Name ?) to open vs. auto in order to heat my house, but when I turn it back to Auto it cuts off the gas to the burner and no heat again. Both units are acting the same. Is there a reset that needs to happen after a power outage? What am I missing?

Did you experience an outage of power AND gas services? The manual/auto gas controls you describe are oldies, so you probably have separate pilot safety devices that require resetting after a pilot outage. Typically, if you follow the thermocouple lead or the small gas tubing from the pilot burner(s), it will lead you to the device. Look for a button, usually red.

I'm not sure if gas was out too, the utility company replaced a pole in front of my house so it's possible. I followed the tube from pilot and it goes to the electronic pilot light box and there is no reset switch or on/off switch on that box.

Read the instructions on the front of the BASO control. That is the pilot safety device. The lever sticking out of the top is used to reset it.

I tried that however it's not lighting the pilot. I'm questioning if it is in fact an electrical issue.

This device does not light the pilot. It interrupts power to the gas control if the pilot goes out. The pilot must be lit first, then the control reset after a minute or so. If your electric service was out, it should not have caused the pilot(s) to go out. :confused:

I think my husband may have put the pilots out in his attempt to troubleshoot. What I did was get an voltage meter and trace the electrical back to the circuit breaker and found that I had a bad breaker, must gone have gone bad when they turned the power back on. Anyway I switched out the breaker and then reset the furnaces and everything is working again. Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it!
