Our washer walks a lot on spin cycle! Please help.
We have a very unstable spin cycle. Drum is always off balance regardless of load adjustments. The mounts on the bottom of the washer supporting the whole drum transmission assembly are loose and we are not sure if they should be loose. Two especially are very very loose and the whole assembly rocks from corner to corner and throws the washer forward into the room while on the spin cycle. The machine also makes random loud thumping noises while spinning.

What should the mounts on the bottom of the machine look like? Should they be tight or allow movement, and how much? We have a cracked belt as well.

    Any advice?

    The model # is WWA8310GALWH

    Serial is H2903234G

Does anyone have any information on this? What are the mounts on the bottom of the washer supposed to look like?

Ours has one vertical plate in each corner of the washer with a vertical clamp that clips to them. The entire drum and transmission assembly rests on these structures.

Are there any diagrams of the washer's guts that can tell us what parts are which? I don't even know the name of the parts we think are malfunctioning.

RE: kenmore 70 series model 110.20712990 Type 111 top load washer. Won't spin. Humming noise and a little burning/hot smell when supposed to be spinning. Bypassing the lid switch did not correct the problem. Changed out the motor coupling with no luck... still a humming noise but no smell.

GE Washer won't complete spin cycle [ 1 Answers ]

I bought my washer used. It works fine, until it gets to the spin cycle. It starts to drain, and after a few minutes it will begin to spin and stops. However, if it has no clothes in the tub, it will complete the spin cycle. Once in a while, it will complete the cycle with clothes in it, but it is...
