My 2007 jeep started fine drove down the road- the gauges flashed some so at a stop I put it in park turned it off then restarted it- it cranked fine but won't budge out of park-- also the battery light was flashing when I was trying to get it into some gear- could the battery be related to it not going into gear?

. Remove and fully charge the battery. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.

Regards to the 2007 jeep locked in park- we got it unlocked by pushing a key into a hole beside the shifter to free it up- possible electrical situation? Fyi --my jeep leaks terrible the front windows- always keep my seats soaked-- we had a lot a lot a lot of rain yesterday- is it possible that the wetness got into something electrical?

You may need to adjust the automatic transmission gear position switch:

Spray the ATX gear position switch with WD-40, to drive out any moisture.

In regards to the 2007 jeep stuck in park-- we used a key to push into a hole beside the shifter to get it back into drive to drive it home NOW - my jeep rag top leaks as if it doesn't even have a cover-- its wet inside right now- is it possible, because it rained all day yesterday and my interior was soaking wet dash included- that this could have caused some electrical complication??

Yes, the moisture could definitely be a major part of the problem.
