    You need to know two things to get the third. It's watts divided by volts to get amps. There is a fourth variable, but that is not used very much in everyday things, which is ohms.

    or are you confusing it with:

    V = IR

    ? ;)

    Simplest example I can think of is:

    Amp = Watts / Voltage

    1 amp = 1 watt /1 volt

    or an actual problem:

    A = W/V = A = 1800 /120 = 15 Amps = 1800 Watts / 120 Volts
