I have a question for a friend who has a furnace problem now. She has a G-U-40007508 gas furnace and on Desember 31st 2009 they stayed over my house after a small get together for new years 2010. Well the next day I found out from her that her pilot went out for her furnace as I went and relit the pilot while also looking for reasons on why the pilot went out (breeze of air ETC) the pilot lit for a month and went out again as I went over to her house again and she told me she heard a loud bang when the furnace went out. I turned the switch off and gas and checked the gas tubes for blockage and all was well. I turned everything back on and relit the pilot, the pilot was blue color, the burners kincked on and heat was being fed for about 5 minutes and the burner shut off while the thermostat was not satisfied, now when it tried to relight due to the thermostat not being sastified and a loud bang was heard and the pilot went out. Is this a problem due to a faulty gas valve?
