    How should dual military file state with different HOR(GA and NY)
    My husband and I are both in the military and are wondering can we file separate for our state taxes but joint on our federal because we have different home of records. He is GA and I am NY.

    Normally, states require that you file in the same way you filed your federal tax return.
    On GA return your husband is resident and report his income. You are nonresident and have no GA income.
    Same treatment for NY.
