I have a 1989 honda accord car will not start after arc from battery to distributor
I was replacing the distributor cap when I accidentally arc from the + battery terminal to the distributor body. I checked the fuses, coil, but they all check out good. Any ideas?

I don't think it has anything to do with it. (I could be wrong)
Did you replace the dist button too?

EDIT: Oh wait... you arc'd it to the body? Did you have it out of the head?

The reason I ask is this... If you had the rotor button out, it may be possible that it could line up 180 degrees out which could throw out the timing. If you had the whole body out, unless you were EXTREMELY careful, it's more likely that the dist shaft rotated and the timing is out that way.

In that case you have to find TDC, the firing order (should be on the head) and locate the number 1 cylinder on the dist head... then line all of that up, put it together. If it's still out pull it apart, rotate the crank ONE whole rotation, put it back together and try again.

You may need to replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM):

ICMs have a microchip inside that can be easily damaged.

It may also have taken out an internal distributor sensor; e.g. CKP, TDC, or CYP.

Not good enough. 12 volts means little--check the amperage draw.
