No compete clause
Worked for Florida paving company as a field estimator. Didn't receive anything for signing a no compete clause and was terminated wrongfully after 11 months.Have asked for months for a copy(never received one) to no avail. I was told by one atty that if the no compete contract wasn't notorized, it was no good! Is this true? Thanks!*** email edited out

Well first most non compete are not inforceable, having it notorized means nothing special, it only proves who signed it, does not make it any more "legal" ** that was a real attorney right ?
Next you got hired, that is what you got for signing, you normally don't get something for signing it is normally just a requirement for being hired.

Thanks! I signed it a couple months before I got forced to sign a letter of resignation. I have a copy of this letter. The no compete basically said 50 mile radius for 2 years. :(

They are one of those issues,
1. the company may never do anything if you break it
2. and if they do, they may not win.
But you will never know if it is good or not, till you break it and they sue you.
Also if they do sue, the reason you were left go can be part of the defense,
