My Pit Bull dog has blood in his urine, why is this?
My 2-yr old, 90 lb. Pitt Bull dog has blood in his urine. Why does this happen? I have not taken the dog to a Vet, because of money constraints. Thank you.

It could be any one of a number of things but the most likely would be a urinary tract infection.

If you absolutely cannot no way get him to a vet you can give a little cranberry juice, same as you would for a UTI in a human, if he won't drink it give it to him in a syringe.

I am NOT saying that is what is wrong though, it could be something a lot worse... you really need to go to a vet for a proper diagnosis.

Do you think your vet would set up some sort of paymentplan, or maybe you could calla round until you found a vet that would offer a payment plan?
Blood in the urine is never a good sign!
Infection is one of most common reasons for blood in dog's urine. The infection may find its way into multiple points in the urinary system including the prostate, bladder, kidneys, and the urethra. The infection will cause inflammation in each of these areas.

Other causes could include stones in the bladder and kidney, the presence of a tumor, I can't remember what it is called but it could also be from the tube which carries urine from the body collapsing, and poisoning from a medication your dog is taking or injury. It is possible that the cause cannot be identified.
