Water appears brown, but on close inspection.
I have a large soaking tub with jets in our master bath... for about 6 months now we have noticed whenever I fill the tub the water is brown... it looks absolutely disgusting. I put some in a clear glass and in the clear glass the water is CLEAR... weird huh?

It gets weirder... all our sinks run clear and our kids tub is fine as well when we run baths in there... the only place the problem is with is this jet soaking tub.

About 6 months ago we noticed the problem and replaced the faucet at that time thinking that was the problem... that didn't fix the problem, so we emptied the hot water heater, cleaned it and we still have the problem...

Another thing I stumbled upon since the water is "actually clear" when we examined it we still used the water, and ran the jets, and on mistake we had a wash cloth get sucked onto the silver bottom area's on the tub that I guess redistribute the water for the jets, and didn't realize when I did I immediately pulled the white washcloth off and it was covered in Brown and the water immediately looked clear...
How do I figure out what the problem with my tub is and fix it... I was thinking maybe I should do 1/2 water 1/2 bleach & run the jets and try that... Do you think that would damage anything? Or do you have another suggestion? I really can't afford to have a plumber come out...

    Thanks.
