Depressed.could use some people to talk to
Hey... my name is paul I'm 20... college student all that. For like the last 10 or so years I've been really really depressed, on and off, never been on any medicine for it, and counseling really didn't help at all
The few gfs I've managed to have helped somewhat but now I'm newly single again (happy new year to me) and I'm just again feeling so blah so down, the thought of just killing myself has come to me so so so many times
I really just want friends... I live in boston I want ne friends there that I can hang out with and that I don't have to be fake around I don't have to pretend like everything all right when really its just not
I feel like the only person I've ever been able to talk to about this kind of stuff just doesn't want to hear it anymore because now she has a boyfriend and just can't be bothered... hahah feel really kind of pathetic and lonely now like I have nothing to look forward to... umm if anyone wanted to like just...

Hi Paul, I can understand your feelings. Sometimes things just seem So hard.
What's really hard, when you're feeling like you are, is that in order to have friends you need to go out and make them. And, in order to make friends, you need to be interested in people and have things in common.
Because you're feeling down, it's much harder. People don't necessarily want to hang around others who are sad or negative.
What are your interests or hobbies? Music? Sport? Exercise?
I know it sounds corny, but the way to meet people is to participate in activities where there is a common interest. That way you don't have to talk about yourself a lot, and you can talk about the common interest.
I'd also suggest that you may want to speak with a doctor about your depression. Short term medication can be extremely effective and can take the edge off your negative feelings. This can potentially really help you to meet new people and put you in a different head space.
You need to ask the right people for help - sure you can confide in a best friend, but in the end people get sick of it if they can see that you're not talking steps to help yourself.
I urge you to speak to a doctor and ask about anti-depressants. Counseling will also be much more effective once you're on medication and feeling more positive.
Start taking some steps to help yourself out of the depression and you'll be amazed how your relationships with people will change, and become more positive.

Hey dude I know exactly where your coming from and it really sucks! But keep positive and keep on keeping on. If you ever need to talk about your feelings post it up on a Thread and I'll answer you ASAP! I have struggled with depression my entire life and I have been emotionally scarred for life because of some of the "treatments" I think that if you are thinking about killing yourself.. don't! Just occupy your mind with something else completely! I play WOW and my guildies are my friends, but for a college student playing an extremely addictive video game might not be helpful. Have you tried exercising, I exercise frequently and it releases natural endorphines and gives you a natural high and makes you feel great about yourself give it a shot you got nothing to lose bud! Keep well and get back to me soon!
