Hello everyone, I ran across a thread where Appleguy wrote a walk through for replacing the rear bearing on a Frigidaire dryer similar to mine. Is Appleguy or someone else still here that can walk me through this work.

I started replacing the rear bear assy and the felt guides on the front of the drum. I should have removed the top of the dryer first and removed the vane, from what I have seen since in a manual... but

I removed the screws holding the heat shield and the other three screws on the inside of the dryer drum, when I did it looked like the heater assy slide down in the back (behind the drum) and I noticed that the heater element was broke.

So I ordered the heater assy, which by the way was 100 dollars cheaper on-line at appliancepartspros.com , than at the local parts shop, however the bearing kit and felt guides were about the same price.

So where I'm at now is, I have the six screws taken out of the back of the dryer drum, and I'm waiting for the heater assy to come in tomorrow.

I hope I can do this work myself, I live on a fixed income and the repair guy I called wants 200 bucks to do the repair if I buy all the parts, which may be fair, but I also had my dishwasher go out, and then my hot water heater, not to mention something is wrong with my sliding glass door track, that I must open 10 times a day to let the dog out! All of this happened a week before Christmas!

Is there an order to replace these parts on the dryer that would be better than the other?I was thinking of working from the rear forward, doing the felt guides last, does anyone have the time and knowledge to write something up that I could follow in order to do this, I do have a repair manual that someone posted a link to on another site, that helps me a good bit, but some of the pictures are limited to a samll area and seems a little confusing, here is the link to the manual if anyone else may need it. http://frigidaireservicetips.com/pdfs/488_3.pdf
