Where is he getting this? I think I would have him committed to a psych unit and file charges against the doctor prescribing him this med!

How do you propose getting him committed? It's not as easy as you think.

Hmmm. Seems to me that he is a danger to himself. He almost overdosed last week. Its all in the wording.

Yes, but... working in the medical field I can tell you that it's not that easy.

I work in the medical field too. I agree, its not easy but it is possible if its presented right. Bottom line, he needs help and the doctor prescribing him this needs investigated.

I agree that the doc needs investigated, but getting an involuntary commitment is near impossible these days.

If I was her... I would call and say that he is depressed and it has been getting worse. He is addicted to pethidine and has started making comments about ending his life by over dosing. As far as I'm concerned, he already made one attempt. Whatever it takes to get the help I need. It's a shame that its as hard as it is but you got to do what got to do to get help. Either that or she is going wake up one day and find him dead or she's going to snap..
