Ford diesel cold weather starting problems
My 96 F250 7.3 diesel started for about 30 seconds then died. It was in very cold weather -40 below. So I then changed my fuel filter and added 911 to my filter resevoire.and it still didn't start. Could have I pushed gelled fuel into my pumps?

That's very possible. Here's a link I recently wrote that may help:

If you have more than one fuel filter, I would change both of them.

Are you using bio diesel or waste veg oil ? Bio diesel should be fine but waste veg oil will be thicker and may not go through the pump in cold weather.

Ford 7.3 diesel cold weather [ 2 Answers ]

I have a 2000 F350 with the 7.3 diesel. In cold weather(below 30 degrees) the engine will rev to about 1200 - 1400 rpm during initial warm up. If I tap the break pedal it will drop down to normal level of about 800. It will stay there for a minute or so and then run back up to the 1200 level. ...

Starting a stubborn gas grill in cold weather [ 2 Answers ]

OK, this seems to be the best forum to post this in, so here goes. This is our first winter with the new grill and tonight it would barely start if I only turn on and light 1 burner (out of 4). Our old, crappy little grill fired up reliably regardless of cold and we're still using that gas tank...

Ford 250, 1991, Diesel Starting [ 2 Answers ]

I have a 1991 f250 diesel. It runs great but starts up poorly when it sits for more than a day. I found some cracked return lines and replaced them. If it sits for more than a day or two it will try to start, run a few seconds and then shut down. After that it takes five or six (or more)...
