    93 Honda Accord - water pump/timing belt
Has anyone ever replaced these in this car? I was hoping to get a detailed "how to" on this repair. I've worked on cars before (94 Maxima, 96 Integra, 98 Explorer) and usually I have done it through "how to's" that I have found online.

Can someone send me a detailed how to on this repair, please?

    Thanks,
    Sidney

Well, I cannot give you a detailed how-to on timing belt and water pump, but I just wrote a how-to on replacing your distributor cap and rotor, and was looking for a place to stick a link to that, so I think this would not be a VERY BAD place to stick it:

Slow connections - beware! There is 1.44MB of pictures on that page.

I just replaced my first TB and water pump on my 94 Accord LX. I recommend the Haynes Manual for the job. Breaking the crankshaft bolt loose was a pain. Does your 93 have a hex (50mm) in the crank hub? If so, you must find a tool to hold the crankshaft while using a 3/4 socket or a 19mm that will fit inside the tool. I ordered a homemade tool through EBay that consisted of two large bolts welded together with a 12" bar welded on one end of the bolts. It worked well with a cheater bar holding the crank against the floor while placing about 16 inches of extension bar on the socket breaker bar. Use a jack stand/block of wood to hold the extensions and breaker bar level... otherwise you will lose torque power. When the crank bolt breaks it will sound like a 22 round going off. I thought I had broken another Craftsman extension bar.

    Good Luck! vols

I think it may be my timing belt. I have a 92 honda accord ex. The other day I was driving home and my yellow light came on, I looked it up in my manual and it said it was an emission light. But the car continued to run OK. So I drove it home, about 20 miles and it ran fine. The other day I...
