    New Jersey winter eviction
We have tried to make an agreement, to which the landlord had (and now plays stupid) as to required work to be done in exchange for rent owed. I am speaking of kitchen faucet (has not worked for over 2months); dishes have had to washed in bathtub causing ants), rotted floorboards, along with mold throughout. We also have a water system which is connected to a mother-in-law suite that we were to have the electric responsibility for 6 months and then be switched for the other tenent to be responsible. This has yet to happen (over 1yr). Court paperwork was false stating more was owed than actually is (we will be getting receipts from the landlord for our records). Per our landlord "we will be going to see a mediator to set up pmt arrangements" without word of eviction papers until after received by us. Is there anything we are able to do? My daughter is a senior with 6months left in h.s. and I'd rather not move. I heard of a stay order that we can request for 6months? But, is this true. Any help someone may be able to write please do.
Thanking you in advance and have a good weekend.

What do you mean by "eviction papers"? A landlord cannot issue such papers, only a court can. The landlord has to serve you with a vacate notice first. If you do not vacate by the deadline date, then he has to go to court to get an eviction order. This requires a hearing where you can state your case as to why you shouldn't be evicted.

Cite all the repairs, false info etc.

If a court did issue an eviction order and you wre not served notice of a hearing, then go back to the court and ask that the eviction order be vacated on the grounds that you were not informed of a hearing.
