Please help

My best's friend's parents are going having court hearing(or something) on 9th December Here's the thing:
This is their 3rd time to have hearing
Few times,not exactly sure,they had cops in house,her mom ended up in ER


On 6th may we were at their place(they had celebration).We arrived around 8PM,my friend's father wasn't there,and they seemed happy because of it
So my parents sat with her mum and we were watching football/soccer game.I hear her mum talking how they had guests earlier and he got drunk,accused her of cheating him,called her names and almost beat the hell out of one neighbors(he's sure she cheated him with that guy).Than he run out of house.
My friend wasn't telling me anything,I knew they had problems but...
Around 9 PM he arrived home.Seemed OK to me.My friend pulled me and told me it's best we go upstairs.I said OK we went,leaving her sister(younger one was sleeping)
So we were lying on her bed,reading some school book and listening to music.Than she went downstairs(bathroom)and I stayed.
I remember it was song ''Trashed and Scattered'' (by A7X) when something crashed
I jumped like crazy,it scared me.I thought my brother hit something and it crashed
I was lying for few minutes and I was just about to go and see are they OK,when my friend runs in room,holding my brother(he's 2).She just dropped him and sat on bed and started crying.My brother saw her crying an he started too,calling mum saying 'let's go home'.I hugged him,I had no idea what happened but I knew it was bad.
It was so sad watching two of them.Than my mum and her mum walked in.I asked what the hell happened
Well her father started complaining,telling my parents how she's who**,and stuff.Than he went crazy,took telephone and throw it on the floor(and there's a lot empty space).
Older sister is sick(hit head few years ago,having attacks)she fell on the floor,my father catched her in last moment
My friend's mother took my phone called a police.They said they'd come soon
We were waiting for hours.When they finally arrived they talked for one more hour,taking statements
It was midnight when my parents decided to take my friend's father with us,so he can spend night at our place
Also that night he hit tree somewhere on the road,destroyed car,cause he was drunk


Now he works in Italy,his wife is here,it has been like this for years
They have 3 daughters(they had twins,but son died)
He comes back from Italy,he's in same house with them.They're scared of him,he's acting stupid
Eldest daughter has to testify

They have nowhere to go - she's not working(thanks to him),he'll be fired soon(recession),if they get divorce I doubt he'll pay alimentation


What do you think what will court do?Please help I'm really worried for my friend

Gee, T, that was quite a story, but I still don't know, after all of that, why they are going to court and for what. I would like to help you but I just don't get it.

Well if it is like here in the US, by the time he goes to court, his wife will cry to the judge and tell him that she loves him and did not mean it.
And then nothing happens and everyone goes home

So where is the dad living now ? Still in the same house? Most likely and it all goes back like before
