Can SSI disability be attached to muni court for court costs?
My girlfriend has several misdemeanors in a municipal court - they are simple disorderly and trespass and the court - as they all do - just want money

She has been collecting SSI disability for mental problems for about 4 years - it is my understanding that any small claims court or creditor can NOT attach social security income in any kind of lawsuit, etc - does this then apply to a municipal court as well when they assess fines and court costs? I understand they can suspend license, if one can not pay, but can a warrant continuously be issued if no pmt is made? I am also aware that SSI can be suspended if there are active warrants, even for a silly misdemeanor

Please let me know how she can avoid paying these clowns and continue to receive her benefits without the city manipulating her and trying to stop her SSI, etc

    Thanks

SSI cannot be seized to pay debts (with the exception of child support, student loans) but once SSI is co-mingled in an account (with other funds) it CAN be seized.

Yes, a warrant can be issued for her arrest if she does not pay the fines as ordered.

Why do you feel she doesn't have to pay, shouldn't pay, was unjustly convicted?
