Im looking for the name of a movie that I used to watch all the time when I was younger. The most I remember about it is that these kids don't know what happen to their friend in the beginning of the movie because he's taken away by a ambulance and then they travel to these places.. the only place I can remember is when they are in mexico and learn about the day of the dead. At the end of the movie they find out that their friend had his appendix removed. I know this isn't much to work with but I hope someone can figure out what I'm talking about.

A group of trick-or-treaters chase after the soul of a friend who is sick and close to death. Along the way they learn the meaning behind many of the traditions of Halloween and the many ways that Halloween and similar holidays are celebrated around the world.

If they fail to catch up to their friends soul before the end of Halloween, they will loose him forever.
