Looking for info and parts on old Rheem furnace
    Hello,

We have a Rheem furnace (model # RGLA-07EC-ER, serial # F4790 0817, 75K BTU/hr input) and I need (1) a fan delay control replacement and (2) to know the efficiency rating of this unit. The fan runs constantly and a local technician said it is my fan delay control, but he also said that we can't get a replacement part for it as no manufacturers make them any more and that we need to replace the furnace.

I am hoping that someone out there either repairs them for this model or they know where some parts are for it. Also, since we may have to replace it, what is the efficiency of this unit? I was unable to find any deails on Google.

    Thanks!

    Matt

    Rated at 69%, 75kbtuh 1988-1992 unit
    51kbtuh output. Or there abouts.

According to this you need a 8 inch fan and limit control. If it looks like this they can be bought cheaper from a different source. If it does not look like this post a picture. I am sure the part is available.

Thanks HVAC1000! My part (part # L4064A2030 6) looks like the first one you referenced (8" Fan and Limit Controller with 125 F fan on and 100 F fan off stops, 200 F limit ( 3 or 4 wire hook up): American HVAC Parts), although I didn't take it off the furnace so I can't confirm that mine has the long metal tube protruding out the back of the part. The inside looks the same.

The main reason we had the technition come out was because we had a horrible burning smell come out of the vents one morning. We unplugged it for a day, plugged it back in, and the smell didn't come back, and that's when I noticed that the fan would not shut off. Well, the smell is back now and it smells like a strong burnt rubber smell. Is my fan going out?

    Thanks!

It is possible the motor is overheating. Carefully touch it after it has been running for awhile. Also check to see if your old furnace is a belt type blower drive. It could be the blower bearings or belt that is defective. When you go to remove the old control just measure the length of the sensor to get the correct one. Also make sure you write down and mark all the wires that are attached so you can put them back on the new control
