    John deere l110 won't start
    Started mowing lawn ran for about 30 to 60 minutes. And ran well then it just dyed.had old gas in it so I drained all the gas out of the tank replaced with fresh gas then blew out all the line with 100 # of air carb cleaned float area and carb sprayed some carb cleaner into to the intake to see if it would crank and did but could not get a flow of gas going? No gumming of the crab that I saw took float bowl off to see if I was getting a good flow into the bowl and I was.air filter clean everything looks good around carb area

    Hi,
    First thing would be to check for the fuel shutoff solenoid operation. It has a mechanical fuel pump the does not "like" high pressure air and will break the diaphragm usually resulting in fuel contaminated oil in the sump.

    I have a 17.5 kohler and it appears to have a mechanical fuel pump. After I did everything in previous post. I then pulled the float bowl to see if I was getting gas and I was? If I'm getting gas to the float bowl the diaphram should be OK?? The float it self looked to be in great condition and working properly.there is a fuel solenoid at the bottom of the float bowl and I think this my be my problem. Is there anyway I can check the fuel solenoid before replacing it looks to be around $50.00 don't what to replace it and that not be the problem

    Hi,
    Yes, use a known good 12V source with positive to the wire and negative to the body and the plunger should retract. Do it away from fuel to minimize fire hazard from possible arcing. I think it is more like $65. Not getting 12V to that wire could be the problem, also.
    Diaphragm can still leak and still pump for a time; just keep an eye on the oil for contamination. It could pump to the carb and leak into the sump.
