    Tob diverter
    When tub/shower button is down water comes out shower head

    Has this done this forever or is this something new, and if it is something new has any work been done on the spout.

    Crud builds up where the knob moves up and down, sometime not letting the slide move althe way so if you can use a mirror and look up into the spout and see if there is anything you could clean.

    It is probably High Pressure or Shower Head riser is too short.

    It is a new instal,does the same as last 2 spouts

    Rickg-4: Did you measure your water pressure ? How tall is the shower head riser ? Unless you answer these 2 questions we won't be able to eliminate the two most common causes of your problem. Thank you. Milo

    Rick,
    You really have to measure your house pressure. Purchase a hose bib pressure gage ,(see image) from your local hardware store and let us know your house PSI. It should fall between 40 and 60 PSI with the average house pressure at 45 PSI. Do byou have a pressure reducing valve installed? Let us know, Tom
