    Are you trying to relinquish to pave the way for an adoption?

    Your parents absolutely can NOT stop you from choosing adoption. That's true for ANY state. YOU are the legal parent of your child, and only YOU can make that decision.

    In conjunction with the baby's father, of course. You can't choose adoption unless he is willing to relinquish his rights as well.
