    Sunk toilet slab
    W.C. slab is generally sunk by about 50cm below general floor level for Indian type water closet. What is the term called and what is the purpose of this?
    Please explain with links images of sections,sketches.

    Hoo boy! Bet a lot of plumbers will get a chuckle out of this one.
    Word of advice. Don't fall in the hole!
    What you have here is a "Squat Toilet" (see image) Beginning to get a clue?"?
    Essentially a hole in the floor that you simply squat over and do your business. After, you can fill a bucket that's furnished and dump it down the hole. Some units have a water tank or a flush valve to flush with.
    Don't carry toilet paper around with you? TOUGH!! It's not furnished.
    Ya got a hose and nozzle to wash off with.
    Squat toilets can be found all over the Middle East and japan.
    You now know more about squat toilets then you ever wanted to .
    The only question left unanswered is " Why are you asking?"
