    Toilet bowl flange clearance
    Hi,
I am installing a tile floor in my bathroom and the toilet bowl flange is about a 1/4 inch below the level of the floor. What is the variance I can have that the wax ring will correct for and is it better to be higher,(and by how much) or lower than the floor with the flange, if I cannot get it to be level?

    Thanks,

    Joe

    Hi Joe,
A extra thick wax seal with a funnel ,(see image) should work since the horn of the toilet bowl extends past the flange.
If you're concerned you can raise the flange wit a set of flange spacers.(see image). Good luck, Tom
