    Attic / rocking chair movie
Many years ago, (Probably late 70's early 80's) I remember watching a film which I am desperate to find again , butcan't remember what it is called. The opening scene is that of a car crash where the mother / wife gets killed. They live in this big old house and from what I remember the child is told not to go into the attic. Well of course she does and there is a rocking chair - which rocks on its own. I don't remember much more - just as I child I found it scay.
Any suggestions of what this film could be would be greatefully received - cheers;)

Maybe "The Changeling"? Father lives in the house and the pipes keep banging every morning. I don't remember a rocking chair, but there was a very scary wheelchair!

HEY! I am actually looking for the same movie I think!! Okay, I don't know if I am mixing 2 movies, but let me explain what I remember. I remember the cover. A wheel-chair on a black background. I think the movies begins with a woman and baby getting killed by a truck while her husband talks in a phone box... Then he moves into a big house where a ghost haunts him. It is a little girl who drowned in the bathtub (I think someone drowned her) and the man can hear her banging her fists into the bathtub every night - he also sees her in the bathtub once. Then when he goes up to the attic there is a rocking chair rocking on its own, where the dead girl lives. Also she throws a red ball down the stairs to him, even though he threw it out in a lake the day before. Does anyone know what the movie is called?

Meo, it does sound like you're describing The Changeling, which has both the bouncing red ball and the drowned child ghost.

I just installed a new toilet and it was rocking. The new toilet came with a new wax ring. The kind with the built in funnel.
