    Tax refund
    Hi,

    I have 2 questions.

    1. I came to US in the month of September in L1 Visa and I am paying about $900 as federal taxes every month. Can you tell me whether I will be eligble for the entire refund of my federal taxes when I file my return.

    2. My parents will be visiting US during Mar 2010. Can I show them as my dependants in my W4 and claim tax refund for the year 2010. If yes, do I need to apply for a ITIN for them. My father files taxes for the income he make in India, but in US they are dependent on me.

Can someone clarify on this please.

    Thanks.

    Thasenthil:

The critical issues on HOW you will file are:

    1) Whether you are married.

    2) How LONG will you be in the U.S.
