    Community Property
We live in Texas and my husband's father, which lived in California, just passed awa. His father did leave him an inheritance. Once the money is paid to my husband out of the estate, is the money considered to be just his money, or does it become community property?

From what I can tell in Texas this is HIS money, not community property. Once it's deposted in a joint account it IS community property. If he holds it separate it is not.

No. Just didn't know how these things worked. Never had a reason to know until now. Thank you for your answer.

Okay - the community property question just usually isn't asked unless there's a divorce lurking in the wings!
