    Cold handle bathtub leaks!
My bathtub has been leaking and I replaced the washer and the seats and I know that the cold handle is the problem area. It's just a bathtub with 3 separate openings for the faucet (it has 2 handles & I believe it's a COMPRESSION faucet). It's not a spout and doesn't connect to the wall. When I shut off the water supply there is still water flowing from it and I was told there shouldn't be. What do I need to do to stop it? Do I have to decaulk it and take it apart to check out the tubing within or what? I need steps to stopping this pestering leak! I'm losing my mind!!

Your complaint isn't very clear. Are you leaking from around the stem of the cold water handle? If so this is a easy repair. Look at the image I've put up. There's a nut on the stem. Open the valve so it begains to leak and snug that nut,( the top one) up until the leak stops. CAREFUL! Don't overtighten. Better now? Tom
