    Wages being garnished.
I was being consistent paying my debt to the law firm they trick into the amount that I should paying on a monthly basis I said 200.00 a month they took out the two hundred and now is looking for 400.00 I knew I could not afford that kind of payment now they are looking to garnish my wages 6500.00 is there any thing legally that I could do to stop this process and perhaps set up another agreement with the judge. Do I have a leg to stand on or am I doom. Thank you raisindog:confused:

$ 400 a month garnish will extinguish the
    Amount owing twice as fast.
    The amount seems reasonable enough
    Out of $6,500 a month.
    I think they will succeed.

    What?

If there is a Judgment against you - and it appears there is - any legal means of satisfying that Judgment are legal. The Judge has nothing to do with the creditor collecting from you. The creditor does not have to reach a payment agreement with you.

Do you have a written agreement concerning the payment of $200 a month?

Where are you? The garnishment amount is a percentage, not a flat amount.

Are you saying that the amount the creditor is trying to collect is not the amount of the Judgment?

Sorry to answer your question with questions but need more info.

If there already is a wage garnishment order in place signed by a Judge you need to have a hearing before the Judge and show that the creditor doubled your amount without a new court order. The Judge will know what to do with this creditor.
