Hamton Bay Fan Will Not Turn On
I recently purchased a fan from Hampton Bay - The Caswyck. It was working fine for a few days until the up lights suddenly stopped working. I called the mfg. and they sent out a new receiver. I replaced the old receiver but now I am not getting any power to the fan. I entirely removed the new receiver and then hard wired the fan to the light switch wires. I'm still getting no power. I've checked all breakers and GFI circuit outlets but I have not discovered the problem. Any suggestions or advice?

Lets start right at the switch box on the wall. What color wires enter the box? Have you tested them for power?

Was/is the fan still working OK?

    Did you check the bulb?

How did you wire the new receiver?

I checked the light bulbs, breaker box, switch box wiring and the GFI outlets. Out of frustration I reinstalled the receiver this morning. The fan and the down light are now working but not the up light. Basically, I'm back where I started. The problem with the fan rests with the up light module. Why I couldn't get power to the fan when it was wired directly to the wires coming out of the ceiling remains a mystery.

Mystery at your end is going to be hard to solve at our end. If the fan and the down light are working we know power is reaching the unit. Seems other are having problems with this company too. Consumer Complaints about Hampton Bay Lighting I would just keep call Hampton Bay at this point. They thought a receiver was the issue so let them figure it out.

Their "solution" is for me to contact Home Depot so they can send out a replacement fan. At the end of the day all I really want is a fan that works. Thanks for your support.

If you want a whole new fan, just return yours to Home Depot, they will give you a new one in store.
