    Wiring issues with hooking up new Hunter 44860 Thermostat
    I currently have a 'TotalLine' thermostat model #P474-1010 hooked up to my Bryant HVAC system on my 3 year old house.

    Indoor Model # FY4ANF036
    Outdoor Model # 213ANA036


    This is the current wiring hook up to the TotalLine Thermostat:

    [R] => Red Wire
    [G] => Green Wire
    [Y1] => Yellow Wire
    [W2] => Black Wire
    [W1] => Orange Wire
    [Y2] => NO WIRE CONNECTED
    [C] => Blue Wire

    So I bought a Hunter Touch Screen Model 44860 and hooked it up as follows:

    [RH] => Red Wire (Not only did I connect the existing Red wire to RH, but I also jumped [RH] to [RC/R], so there are (2) wires (the jumper and the red wire) in the [RH] terminal.

    G] => Green Wire
    [Y1] => Yellow Wire
    [W2] => Black Wire
    [W1] => Orange Wire
    [C] => Blue Wire

    Ok, that seems exactly the same other than adding the jumper, right? Well now the problem. With the new ly installed thermostat, only HOT air is coming out, even when the thermostat says the 'Cool Air' is running. :mad: I gave it 15 minutes and it just went from 80 to 82 in my house. The vents were blowing noticeably hot air out of them.

    Well the only thing I see wrong that might occur is if I am not using the jumper correctly. Am I supposed to jump the [RH] to [RC/R] and NOT connect my existing red wire? That does not seem right to me.

    Anyway, I just reinstalled my old thermostat temporarily, and within 15 seconds of turning on, cool air was blowing from the vents.

    What am I doing wrong? Please help experts! :)

    Did you get the thermostat set up properly?

    Your first mistake was buying a Hunter thermostat. Most technicians don't have anything good to say about Hunter, not very reliable. It looks to be wired correctly. Most likely you will need to run the installer set up and pick the system you have.
