    The ignition coil will only mount one way.. . line up the magnet on the flywheel and the coil and put a business card between them you will feel the magnet suck the coil to the flywheel tighten it down.

    The flywheel key keeps the ignition in time, it may be partially sheared.

    Question for you. WHY?

    Orare you talking valve timing? In wich case there are marks on the cam gear and the crank cam gear that line up.

    If the engine is apart, and you need to know the timing of the cam... yes just line the marks up (you'll have to rotate the cam, and crank, till the cam goes in, then rotate it to the marks and keep doing this till its lined up)

    That's about the only real timing to them...
    Coil is (like stated above) stationary... flywheel key might be sheard... but that happens usually when the engine was stopped abruptly.
