STOP bathing him every week!
What breed of dog do you have?
Longer coated breeds (Shih Tzu, Pomeranian, golden retriever etc) Only need to be bathed about once every 6 weeks.
Short coated breeds (Labrador, great dane, pitt bull etc) Need a bath once a YEAR unless they are physically covered in dirt.
I would recommend just brushing your dog more often instead of bathing.. brushing promoted healthy skin and also removed any loose dust and dirt from the coat.
Bathing, while it does removes dirt, also removes essential oils from the dogs fur, making it dry and often causing skin irritation (AND SMELL)
Next thing to try is checking your dogs TEETH.
If your dog has a rotten or bad tooth then it can cause your dog to be a bit smelly.
The tooth smells, which makes their mouth smell... they then lick themselves and make their fur smell!
Going to a vet would be best as they can more easily tell if there are any bad teeth but you can also do a quick check from home...
First just lift your dogs lips and check the exterior of ALL teeth.
You will then need to open your dogs mouth and check the interior of ALL teeth.
The word ALL is in capitols as a lot of people miss the very back teeth when checking their dogs... they see the front ones are shiny white and don't bother checking the back ones.
