    Dirty Dishwasher
The inside of my diswasher is filthy... around the door and in the container for the silverware... have tried cleaning with clorox and vinegar... nothing seems to work. Anyone know what is wrong?

Do you mean there is dirty water in the dishwasher or that it just needs cleaning? Do you have an air gap on the sink rim?

All of the little gadgets on the door are moldy... the cup that holds the cleaner and rinse aid and the holder for the silverware. The dishwasher drains fine. It is located in an island in the middle of kitchen floor...

But do you have the air gap or a high loop in your drain hose? I would think bleach would kill mold. However, if you are getting contaminated water from the sink or garbage disposal it would keep reoccurring.

My husband says no. We have run bleach through it, but can't seem to get rid of the mold. There are so many little places that you just can't reach to clean by hand... I wonder if it is just not ever completely drying either. Maybe that is what is causing th e mold... it is always damp in the dishwasher and I always keep it closed...

If you don't have an air gap on the sink you need to tie the drain hose up to the bottom of the counter top so that dirty water running down the drain does not run into the dishwasher.

Our one-year old Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher 665.1374 worked great for 6 months then started gradually cleaning more poorly. Now most dishes are left with specks of food or grease on them -- baked on due to the heated dry! The owner's manual wasn't much help -- everything checks out. It...

Kenmore dishwasher, dishes come out dirty [ 2 Answers ]

So, here's the scoop. It is a one year old Kenmore, model FT1103259, that has been working fine until about a month ago. Glasses (especially) come out foggy and unclean. I use JET DRY and have changed brands of detergents, all without result. It appears that there is a filter or whatnot that...

Dirty cat [ 2 Answers ]

I very recently took in a 6 year-old cat from someone moving out of the country. As the old owner left the cat, they gave an offhand warning that the cat wasn't good about cleaning his rear after pooping (this is a tailess cat which I've been told makes a difference). Hah! This cat uses the...
