    Locked fan blades
I replaced the pull chain for my ceiling fan light. When I got everything wired and ready to go the fan blades were locked. I have checked the pull chain for the fan blades but nothing seems to unlock them. I can hear the motor running for the blades they just won't move. Any ideas?

There is nothing about the switch that would lock the blades. Look for an obstruction, posibly a screw sticking in the way of the blade. When you shut off the power I bet you still can't turn the blades, right?

You're right - they don't move with the power off. But they don't feel like they are hanging on something - they really feel locked up - they don't move at all.

The only thing I can suggest without being there to inspect is to start disassembly. Remove the blades and then open the canopy so you can get the ball out of the hanger. I think you can turn it partially upside down and shake, bet it's a brass screw.
