    Pest Control and groundcover
I have ground cover and some plants up close to my house. I have problem with mainly centipedes, black ants and crickets getting into my house. Do I, in your opinion, need to move the ground cover and plants from being up to my house. If so, how far away from the house should they be?

    Any tips will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Six inches past the drip line is the normal recommendation. If you have gutters, eighteen inches to two feet of bare ground around the foundation wall will discourage pests. With the ants especially, also make sure there are no branches touching or hanging over the building, as the ants are happy to use bridges.
