Hi,
It would be somewhat rare, but I will post a picture of the shutoff control that connects to the operator presence bail/cable. I has the ground switch (#621) that shuts off the ignition. If for some reason the cable does not pull far enough for the arm (the one the cable attaches to) to clear the switch, then there will be no fire. This is side of the engine on the opposite side from the carb and at the base of the blower housing/starter.
Note: This is a manufacturer defect, if occurring, and is definitely covered in your warranty.
Since it is in warranty, I do not suggest doing something to void it; however, a small thin-bladed straight screwdriver slipped in at the bottom between the plastic body of the switch and the metal ground tab and twisted to slightly lower the tip of the tab to clear the arm will repair it for the moment.
If I had to hazard a guess as to the fault should this in fact be the problem, I would say it is a bad cable (stretched prematurely.)
Peace,
Clarke
