    New Toro won't start
I purchased a new Toro lawn mower in late June this year and used it four times and it ran fine. Because of weather, grass has not grown much and I have not used it for the last month.
I attempted to start it yesterday and nothing. I bought it because it is a Ready start. No problems, right.
I have changed the fuel, not it. Checked spark plug. It is wet after a few pulls.
Is it possible to have a fouled spark plug only after four hours of use?

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
It is possible to gas-foul a plug from a flooded situation. What brand engine? Have a primer or choke?
    Peace,
    Clarke

I drained and replaced the gas and replaced the spark plug.
    Still no starting.
It is a 6.75 Briggs-Stratton with ready start, no primer or choke.
I tried checking for spark with the plug out and grounded to the frame.
    Could not see spark.
I can't believe a brand new mower only used four times will not start after setting for a month.

    Thanks...

    Hi,
It would be somewhat rare, but I will post a picture of the shutoff control that connects to the operator presence bail/cable. I has the ground switch (#621) that shuts off the ignition. If for some reason the cable does not pull far enough for the arm (the one the cable attaches to) to clear the switch, then there will be no fire. This is side of the engine on the opposite side from the carb and at the base of the blower housing/starter.
Note: This is a manufacturer defect, if occurring, and is definitely covered in your warranty.
Since it is in warranty, I do not suggest doing something to void it; however, a small thin-bladed straight screwdriver slipped in at the bottom between the plastic body of the switch and the metal ground tab and twisted to slightly lower the tip of the tab to clear the arm will repair it for the moment.
If I had to hazard a guess as to the fault should this in fact be the problem, I would say it is a bad cable (stretched prematurely.)
    Peace,
    Clarke

I really appreciate the response. I dropped off mower at authorized Toro service dealer this afternoon. I will let you know what they come up with.
It has to be something like you said. The mower has just been sitting in the garage for three weeks and not been touched. Very strange...

    Clarke,
I got my mower back already. You were exactly right. The bail cable was not pulling back far enough. The reason it did not pull far enough was because the cable came out of the little loop on the left side handle
Something so simply but very frustration.
Toro needs to put this information in their manual or online troubleshooting guide.

    Thanks again...
