18yrs daughter kicked out after having party
My daughter refused to find a job and help around the house. We have over the past 3 years have spent over 10,000 on her from: braces, acne facial stuff, clothes, senior trips, etc.She has been lying about where she goes. Says she is going shopping but ends up in a concert 80 miles away. I have never denied her going anywhere. She lied she was going to a friends one night while we were gone and then proceeded to have a sleep over with 10 people both boy's and girl's with 72 bottles receipt and margarita mix was purchase in the process one of our house cat's was let outside and the cat is gone Someone had sex on my 9yr old's bed and left a used rubber there. She proceeded to not tell us tell we found all the pieces together after 2 weeks after repeatedly lying there was no sleep over. She showed no remorse and kicked her out to wake her up.

It is now 3 weeks and refuses to answer her phone and her mail is piling up.She is going to college. We left messages that here belongings need to be picked up.

What rights does she have being 18yrs old in NY.

Sounds to me like she needed a wake-up call.
She was making stupid decisions, ruining her life, and making you hurt for it.

I don't agree with kicking her out, necessarilly, but you were very stressed out with her, and didn't know what else to to. So, although I don't approve of exactly what you did, I don't blame you.

As far as I know, she has all the same rights as any other mentally stable adult.

Do you know where she is? Did she take her charger so she can even use her phone? Are you sure she is even going to college anymore?

If you kicked her out, she doesn't have to answer her phone. What sort of rights are you asking about?

Also, are you sure she's okay? Do you know where she's been staying?
    Maybe she lost the phone...

It seems maybe in retrospect, that with her going off to college, it may not have been the best time to boot her out. Although, when she does mature a bit, she may show a little more respect in your home.

I do think as someone has said, that you do need to find where she is, and make sure that she is okay.

If it is at all possible to mend the rift until she leaves, and just agree to disagree with her choices, you may be able to salvage the relationship.

When school does start, you can always check with the registrar where she is attending to make sure she is enrolled.
