    Identifing an old 80's anime movie
    Hi

    Please help me identify an old Si-Fi anime movie. I believe it was from the 80's

    Her are the details I remember:

    The story is about a space soldier who's ship crashes. A young man comes to his aid.

    In the interaction between them, the wounded space soldier transfers a lance from his hand to the young mans hand and dies. [It seems he was the last soldier who could fight the evil powers in space- An entity who wants to rule space].

    After the soldiers death the young man's life changes: HE is now the only one capable of fighting the entity and he is pursued by galactic soldiers out to kill him. The young man now must survive and in his mission he is aided by a good and older friend (could be a family friend).

    I believe this film also had a sequel.

    I would appreciate any help in identifying this film.

    Are you sure it's a lance he gave him?
    Other than that, only anime that comes in mind is "Lensman".. same story sort of.. ship crashes.. dude passes the lens from his hand to the boys hand, and then he takes over to continue the other dude's job

    Yes, it sounds very much like the plot to Lensman (which is hard to find on DVD or VHS).
