    Cutting corian
    I have to cut my corian counter in order to install a new stove - previous stove was somewhat smaller. What is the best way to approach

    Treat it like hardwood and cut with a circular saw, router or even a jig saw. Do not use a fine blade because it will cause too much heat. I rough with a circular saw and finish with a router. Put tape on the surface to avoid scratches

    If using circular saw, use 40 tooth carbite tip blade.

    Hot glue 1x2 to top as a straight edge. Put duct tape on counter top to keep saw from scratching counter.

    If using router, use at least 1/2'' straight cut carbite bit.

    With router definitely use a straight edge because router will wander.

    Just to poke in here I remember back in the 90s when the corian people told the customers it had to be done by there people. We were redoing some counter tops at a Health Campus and the Campus was told it would be over 500$ just to make 2 cuts. Hard To believe... We said we will do it for $300.00 and we did...

    Yep and they still make it difficult to get some of their products to work with Corian.
