    Student loans without co-signer
I am a mother of a 2nd year undergraduate and she is trying to get a student loan without a co-signer. She is a very good student and unfortunately we can't co-sign for her. Anyone know of a bank that will approve a student loan without a co-signer?

You could check out private student loans such as those through Sallie Mae.

Late now, but be sure she looks into federal loans in a timely manner before the next semester and also checks into the possibility of grants. The financial aid office of the school she is attending would be able to help her out with it or she can do it all online herself.

Depending on what she is studying, she may also find scholarships that she can apply for. They have a tremendous amount of money available from a large variety of different organizations... it is time consuming, but could give her plenty of free money!

I just returned to school and I had the same problem. I ended up getting a loan with sallie mae, my parents had to try but their credit score was bad so it was denied after that sallie still aproved my loan without a co-signer. Apparently the it's a requirement from the department of education that parents should be denied and a co-signer is no longer needed. At least with sallie mae, be careful with private lenders their rates are to high. Good luck! I hope I helped a little.
