I was hired to work as a per deim employee for 3 months and worked full time and over. In a position in which the existing employee took an 9 week sick leave. Even without orientation or instruction, I did a great job (everyone seemed happy with my production at work) and it was suggested to me they would try and keep me on after the sick employee came back, in another full time position, and I believe they were trying. All of a sudden after I had finished the 3 months and was training in for another position, I was called off - I didn't understand why and I had just moved into a new apartment (out of a very bad situation at home) was very stressed out about how I would pay for it now. One of my supervisors said with poor communication - I think you need to look for another job. I was so stunned at this - with no other explanation ? Now they are trying to call me in for an evaluation for some reason? Is this because of something they did wrong? Are they trying to keep me from collecting unemployment? I am feeling very warey about this.

As a per diem employee, your status was known. I'm sure you enjoyed the environment, but they've already proven themselves to "trigger-happy" and I would not recommend you further your endeavors with them without some advance explanation on their part.

Moving when you were a temp was your choice, so you shouldn't try to shoulder them with any of that.

A short note to them in the manner of, "I truly enjoyed my time working with your team and trust my work was to your satisfaction. As my term with you is now complete, I see no need to meet for additional evaluation.

If you decide my performance warrants consideration for future regular employment consideration, I would welcome information regarding those position(s). You can forward those job descriptions to me at: ........"

And leave it at that. You are under no obligation for post-employment evaluation.
