    Garnishment of income tax
    I have debt I need to know if I have a great chance of getting my income tax taken? And also how whould you know if your income taxes is being taken?

    Umm your income tax goes to the government and they ain't going to let anyone interfere with that.

    However, it is possible, under certain circumstances to garnish your income tax refund, if you were over withheld. The way to prevent that is to change your witholding to closer match what you will owe.

    You should get notice of any garnishment placed on any asset. Another way to tell is when your refund check is less than what your return calculated it as.
