It is a very common occurrence.
The horrible disease has got a nasty habit of moving very quickly from one place to another.

The internet will be able to provide you with a wealth of information about the spread of cancer and how various types spread.

Thank You, Gemini54 for your reply, I appreciate it, I would also like to thank ROLCAM for a speedy reply. I have been surfing around the net a lot but I cannot seem to find the sort of answers I am looking for, or maybe if there is someone watching this question that may have experienced something similar to what I'm going through, which is HELL. I think I'm just recovering from the first and worst about of cancer which was the vulvar, and then out of the blue I'm told I have breast cancer, and all I can do is just go along with whatever treatment I can get and hope for the best. All I can think of now is what's next to come along, and it really is so scary when you think you might be recovering from the previous and up comes another. I just don't seem to be able to get too much info from the doctors and maybe they don't have too much to give yet. If anyone knows of a good site that might be able to give some more generalised information on this issue, I would love to hear from them. I know I have to be patient as well, but it would be nice to talk to someone who has been there. Thank You. milliecas.

I'm so sorry to heat that you've been going through hell - my sister has had cancer and once you get into that medical roundabout it's difficult to think straight.

I would have thought that there might be some chat rooms on the internet discussing people's experiences? Are there any support groups that your doctors or social workers at the hospital can recommend?

You might also want to think of alternative medicine - diet and meditation have been proved to reduce the rate by which the cancer progresses. A good naturopath or homeopath may also be able to assist - in conjunction with conventional medicine, may people are reporting excellent results.

My sister went to a doctor that practices Traditional Chinese Medicine (as well as her oncologist), and it really really helped her.

I hope that you can find what you need, my thoughts are with you.

I've never had cancer but I watched both my parents die of this horrible disease.

Sadly, cancer spreads. My mother started with breast cancer, it moved to her bones, then her lungs, then her brain, which is ultimately what caused her death.

My dad had lymphoma, it spread to his liver, after that there was nothing they could do.

I don't know what you're going through first hand, but I do know that cancer is a horrible disease to go through.

Don't give up, keep fighting, there are advances being made every day.

    Good luck. :)

As has been stated, cancer can spread. I was one of the lucky ones... my breast cancer did not spread.

With that being said, you really need to talk, in depth, with your oncologist about this. Have you had your lymph nodes removed and biopsied? Did you complete chemo or radiation?

Your oncologist is your best advocate when discussing metastises (spreading) of cancer.

I'm very sorry to hear you're dealing with this.

I'm an ovarian cancer survivor, but I consider myself blessed that it had not spread. There are many types of cancer in my family, and 6 out of 8 of us have had it spread.

It is incredibly common that cancer spreads and appears in multiple locations. Sometimes it can happen quickly, other times many years can pass.

I also work in a cancer clinic and I can tell you that we see it in at least 1/2 our patients or more.

Your oncologist can give you the best information regarding what exactly you have (as you know each cancer has various types) which can sometimes make a difference in the statistics.

    Good luck to you

I have sinnus cancer (ADENOCARCINOMA OF ETHMOID SINUUS) but I now have a lump in my breast and pain in my breast. I have had 2 PET scans, 6 MRI scans and about 12 CT scans during the last 2 years when they first found the sinus cancer, it was removed 2yrs ago, I then had 31 rounds of radiotherapy, a month later it was back, they removed it again, unfortunately chemo does not work on this cancer, and because its so rare, radiotherapy is a shot in the dark, but it came back a 3rd time, that was sept 09. Apparently all the scans and X-rays can cause cancer, so now I have this lump in my breast and I go on 7th dec to have all the tests, I am terrified most of all of having the biopsy as I have become very freaked by needles, as for cancer, well I fought it 3 times, and that was with a very rare cancer, breast cancer is well known, because the lump was found very fast I'm not too worried. Only doctors can really answer questions, but people who have and are going through it can help and support you, and that is the most important and best medicine for anyone. Lots of love. Amber.
