    Relocating child
My son is only 4 weeks old. His mother and I have joint custody and I have visitation every weekend.
She is planning to move out of state in the next six months.
Neither of us have the means of transporting him this distance on a regular basis. Can I prevent her from moving and if not, what good are my weekly visitations if he is 1200 miles away?

Thanks for the reply. Any idea of what sort of form or petition I need to file with the court to get this before a judge? We are in the state of Oregon.
I can't afford a lawyer but I will find the money somehow if I can't file on my own.

You would file a motion to modify custody / affirm what you have already if that's what your happy with and deny her a move away because it would interfere with the custody you already have.
