    Rheem RGPH-05 eauer gas heater
My rheem natural gas heater, RGPH-05 EAUER, manufactured in 1997, located in my basement. Last night I noticed it humming from the blower compartment. The blower wasn't moving. I tried taking the door off which breaks the power. I left it off for about an hour, put it back on. It sounded like it was going to start, then stopped again and started humming.

Do I need to call an HVAC technician or is this something I can troubleshoot and fix? I have the installation instructions, and "users information manual"

I appreciate any help or advice.

You might be ready to get the instructions out cause you might need them, but first locate the capicitor that is wired to the fan motor, they cost around 5 bucks,if you cross your fingers replacing the capicitor will do the trick,, but I`m thinking it probably is the motor, if this is the first in 12 years to go bad you best to not complain

Thanks for the heads up. I have the instructions in my hot little hand (hot because there's no A/C and after all, it's July in Atlanta here.)
I'm headed downstairs with the instructions and a good flashlight.
